Seeing as I haven’t had a chance this weekend to go out and experiment with lighting, I thought that to ensure I had some offering for Photography 101 I would post a gallery of various shots I’ve taken that use light in different ways. I love a bit of a lens-flare, as you will discover ;P
Hope your weekend is awesome!! 🙂
Some lovely flowers at Lesmurdie Falls (Western Australia). They were so bright in person, but the glare freaked my camera out – hence I used some significant colour editing to bring it back! Not 100% realistic, but pretty is always my goal ❤
My first ever post on this blog was this photo. Taken in Paris while on an enchanting holiday. I have had a few holidays, very wonderful, memorable ones – here on this blog is where I get to share them through my pictures! YAY 🙂
Just a leaf in the backyard of my home, but the afternoon sun here in Perth always gives everything a particularly striking glow. I often take little sessions in the evenings to take little snaps like this – you never know how a picture might turn out.
King’s Park – the perfect place to find an interesting nature shot!
I took this on a round-Australia-roadside-camping-trip run by the Science extension program at my High-school. I used my now defunct but pretty good for its time Kodak Easyshare – no zoom whatsoever, and it still managed to focus this close. I loved that little cheapy camera, I even named it – R.I.P. KODEEZY, I NEVER MEANT TO DROP YOU ON THE BEACH AND RUIN YOUR LENS FUNCTION FOREVER.
Another picture of pink flowers? HOW ORIGINAL I AM. This shot is another from Mundaring Weir (Western Australia) and although it’s a bit fuzzy, my love for these colours outweighs my worry about pixelation.
It was all a bustle at Luna Park with the little avenue filled with happy families and smiling friends – this unspoken happiness gave the whole place a very genial and welcoming mood. The afternoon sun was soft and warm as people made their leisurely way around to the final ride for the day. This is one of my favourite snaps from my Sydney adventure, as it captured the soft mood of a satisfying, fun day winding down. ❤ Mum and I had a whale of a time!
Early morning in Sydney on holiday wth Mum – lovely!
An afternoon at Luna Park, Sydney ended with the most spectacular sunset – I snapped this as we wandered to the ferry. It had been a very bright day, so it seems the sun wanted to show us how to set with style! I highly recommend an afternoon trip to Luna Park rather than early; then you get to go home feeling all fun and frivolous.
Bridge over the Seine. Another magical moment in the city of romance!
I tried to make a paper shadow-cut. Turns out you can do a lot if you just try! Ok, fine, I’ll stop being cheesy now.
I took this one at Mundaring Weir (Western Australia) while on another jaunt with my youngest brother and Dad which was really worthwhile! The kind old gentleman at the Museum was extremely interesting and told us all about the area’s history and how all the incredible engineering worked. I am always awed by the fact that only 100 years ago every machine functioned on nothing more than pure mechanics.
Another shot from the perfect trip to Paris – a whole year ago now, but it will always seem like yesterday! ❤ The light was there is so different to Australia – softer and less dazzling which made for some very easy snapshots!
