Posted for Jennifer Nichole Wells’ One Word Photo Challenge: Shamrock – I like these colour-themed challenges, they make for a very pretty gallery post! 😀
Here are some other photos that I posted before that also fit the colour of the week.
Versailles Gardens had so many incomparably intricate garden designs, but I do find myself looking back with the greatest fondness on views like this one. The simple but classic hedge leading your eyes straight to the grand abode in the distance. This particular view seemed so effortlessly pretty I had to take a picture!
I really, really, REALLY like a bit of green covering walls, and this building in Paris definitely fulfilled that aesthetic criteria, hence I snapped a picture. If only it weren’t so hot in Australia; then there’d be umpteen buildings like this for me to love back home!
Once again I owe the chance to see this place to my High School Science trip! A 22 kilometre detour from our route to Karratha was well worth it to see this little drop down to heaven, named simply “The Grotto”. In the middle of barren rock and dust, we descended the natural stone stairs to experience nothing short of a miracle – a green, cool little space with a fresh-water pond. The moment we set foot on the bottom it became my favourite place in Australia.
If I could afford the luxury, I would go back to this place – Versailles in France. I would set up a garden party right in the avenue I photographed here, with a delicious spread for lunch. I once ate a peach that was so perfect I imagine the peaches in heaven would taste just like it – a great pile of those would have to be found for this gathering. Everyone would be required to wear boater hats and carry parasols; it would be so very twee, and I would be so very happy.
I took this on a round-Australia-roadside-camping-trip run by the Science extension program at my High-school. I used my now defunct but pretty good for its time Kodak Easyshare – no zoom whatsoever, and it still managed to focus this close. I loved that little cheapy camera, I even named it – R.I.P. KODEEZY, I NEVER MEANT TO DROP YOU ON THE BEACH AND RUIN YOUR LENS FUNCTION FOREVER.
