Edit: I posted this on Thursday, but for some reason I thought it was Friday. WHOOPSIE 🙂
I have a few subjects I love finding on my photographic adventures; birds are one that I adore, but they are a real challenge to photograph. I always find it so hard to get a clear shot of them before they fly off, but when I can I give it a go! A crow and a hummingbird made a pretty sight as my Dad and youngest bro walked along the riverside path on a perfect sunny day 😀
Seeing as I’m in a birdy mood….here are basically all the rest of the pictures of birds I’ve posted in the past! Immerse yourself in a world of feathers and beaks!
This here ducky was swimming around in a Melbourne pond the last time I went on holiday there. I thought he looked so majestic with those water-drop diamonds on his feathers. My internet-consciousness says maybe I should have edited a crown onto his little head …good taste dictates that is wrong. I restrained myself…this time.
On a trip to a local lake (called Lake Herdsman, if anyone ever comes down the Perth way) the water was so still it reflected the bright blue sky right back up! It was extremely pretty, and the ducks swimming along only made it more so; I love me a paddling mallard!
One little duck in France was having a wonderful swim in this golden pond – we don’t really get an autumnal leaf-change here in Australia so the novelty of the bright orange leaves along with the sheer simplicity of the image sparked my aesthetic senses!
This birdy on a Mandurah beachside was so absorbed preening himself that he didn’t notice me up close taking pictures. He was a very vain little bird, but made for an interesting photo!
A fountain in the Luxembourg Gardens made a lovely home for this little duck!
On a walk with my father and youngest brother, we saw some great sights – a tidal line covered in little crazy crabs (or hermit crabs for those of a more factual persuasion) before another shore filled with black swans, native to Western Australia. These four very obligingly stood long enough for me to capture a candid shot!
Another bird I photographed at Herdsman Lake – I adored its bright yellow feathers! I wish I had some yellow in my wardrobe, but unfortunately my olive skin does not make a lovely match for it – sometimes my life is so hard! 😉
I love these birds – this little one at Herdsman Lake (Western Australia) sat very calmly for a number of minutes on its little perch; it was rather adorable, hence I had to snap a picture 😀
Just some ducks chilling at Kings Park (Western Australia). I have two particular types of animal I can’t get enough of: Ducks and wierd looking insects. I can’t work out why I have these two creature-fixations, but I do. AAAAANYWAAAAAY – I of course edited the colours, as is my wont, and I used my regular weapon of choice: the Fujifilm Finepix.
In Australia, we celebrate our Christmas in summer; I took this photo down in Fremantle (Western Australia) a week before Christmas Day, and while a bright blue sky and seagulls are not at all out of season for me at Christmas, I thought this makes a cool opposite to a lot of the European countries at Christmas time!
