Reach for the Light

grid 1
Fremantle Prison – Western Australia; a dark and dreary place with bars on every window and door. When my Dad and I went there for a tour, sunlight shone in from every open door, but was nearly always blocked by a set of rusted gates. It only added to the oppressive atmosphere in there and gave an interesting insight into what it must have been like to be shut in so completely. I thought the bars on this one gave an interesting layered effect!

  1. This is a really interesting choice, and I think it’s my favorite so far. To think that those who are unlucky enough to live on the other side of these bars view everything through a permanent grid, takes this entire exercise to another level. You really made me think, awesome job!
