Quaint Little Quokka

FAUNA FRIDAY

I missed Theme Thursday – I was teaching kids how to set up electrical circuits at a primary school all day, and my blog completely slipped my mind! So, today I am posting a super adorable animal to make up for it….

QUOKKAS! These little creatures are the reason Rottnest Island, off the coast of Western Australia, has its name - the Dutch travellers thought the Quokkas were giant rats, so called the place "Rat's Nest Island", or "Rottnest Island". Charming, right? ;) Despite the name, Rottnest delivered all kinds of natural wonders, and you can get there after only half an hour on an express ferry!

These quokkas are so friendly, it was hard to resist patting them...or smuggling one back to be my own pet!

I have more quokka images that I will share in the future – they are the sweetest little things. If you have a photo of any animals in your life or that you spotted on an adventure, share a link in the comments below and I’ll share it next week 😀

Have a happy weekend everyone 🙂
